  5. SYNOPSIS
  6.    Allows ComicSetter (by Gold Disk) to run under OS 3.x.
  7.    Should also work under OS 2.x, but I haven't tested that.

  9. DESCRIPTION
  10.    ComicSetter has a bug which does not reveal itself under OS 1.3.
  11.    The bug has to do with improper de-allocation and re-allocation
  12.    of screen memory during SAVE.  The symptom is that after a SAVE,
  13.    the screen colours are all mixed up.  This is usually followed
  14.    very quickly by a system crash.

  16.    CSfix patches the FreeMem() and AllocMem() calls and compensates
  17.    for the bug.

  19.    The complete source code is included.

  21. QUICK SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
  22.    Drag the FixedComicSetter and CSfix icons to the drawer that
  23.    contains your ComicSetter program.  (If you're running ComicSetter
  24.    from the original floppy, please make a backup first).

  26.    Then double-click on the FixedComicSetter icon to start ComicSetter.
  27.  
  28.    NOTE: When run this way, ComicSetter will not create icons for
  29.    the comics you create.  If that bothers you, use the "explicit
  30.    invocation from Workbench" method described below.

  32. EXPLICIT INVOCATION FROM WORKBENCH
  33.    Before starting ComicSetter, double-click on the CSfix icon.
  34.    A transient window displays a message confirming that CSfix
  35.    has been installed.  After exiting from ComicSetter, you may
  36.    remove CSfix by double-clicking on its icon again.  Leaving
  37.    CSfix installed doesn't do any harm but may slow down your
  38.    system a little.

  40. EXPLICIT INVOCATION FROM CLI
  41.    At the CLI prompt type:
  42.       Run CSfix install   -- to install
  43.       Run CSfix quit      -- to remove
  44.       Run CSfix           -- to install, or remove if already installed.

  46. TESTING
  47.    This is CSfix version 1.0 (January 1995).  This is a beta release.
  48.    It has been tested on an A4000/030 with OS 3.0 and ComicSetter 1.0A.
